BERKELEY – Sacramento State's beach volleyball team fell on the road at 19th-ranked Cal, 5-0, on Friday afternoon at the Clark Kerr Sand Courts.
With the victory, Cal, which is the 19th-ranked team in the nation in the AVCA Coaches top 20 poll, improved to 8-1. The Bears have now won eight straight matches, and were playing just their second home match of the season.
Sacramento State, which has yet to play at home in 2018, dropped to 0-8 with the loss. The Hornets do not play again until hosting the Big West Conference Challenge March 30-April 1. For tournament information, including schedule, please click here for the tourney home page.
As part of the Big West Challenge in a couple weeks, the Hornets will open on Friday, March 30, against both CSU Bakersfield at noon and Cal Poly at 3 p.m. The Hornets will also play on the 31st vs. Hawai'i and CSUN, and on Easter Sunday against Long Beach State at 11 a.m.
