Biography
2022 Beach Season
An honorable mention all-Big West Conference selection…finished the season with a 10-11 record, which included 2-1 at No. 2 and 8-10 at No. 3…went 10-3 with teammate McKenna Smith…that 10-3 record with Smith is the best winning percentage (.769) by a doubles tandem in program history (2013-pres.)…the tandem won four straight, and five of their last six regular season matches…of the 10 wins, eight came in straight sets…that includes victories over duos from Pacific (twice), Saint Mary’s, San Francisco (three times), Oregon, Boise State, Santa Clara and San Jose State…a Big West all-academic selection for the third straight year.
2021 Beach Season
Played in all nine matches at the No. 1 spot in the Hornets’ lineup with Macey Hayden…posted a 21-18, 21-16 victory over a tandem from Pacific during the second match of the season…a Big West all-academic selection.
2020 Beach Season
Played all six matches during a shortened spring season…each of those matches came at No. 1 with teammate Sarah Davis…posted straight set wins at Pacific (23-21, 23-21) and against Santa Clara (25-23, 21-17)…nearly beat a tandem from San Francisco, before falling, 22-20, 21-19…a Big West all-academic selection.
2019 Beach Season
Played in 19 of the Hornets’ 21 matches…played five matches at No. 1 in the team’s lineup, 12 times at No. 2, and twice at No. 3…17 of those matches came with teammate Skyler Takeda…Olin/Takeda won matches against UC Davis (twice), CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge and Pacific…of Olin’s 19 matches, six came against nationally ranked competition.
2018 Beach Season
Played in 14 of the team’s 21 matches as a true freshman…posted a 4-10 record, including a 4-8 mark at No. 3 and 0-2 at No. 5…was 4-8 with Hannah Meadows at No. 3, and 0-2 with Brigitte Murdock at No. 5…Olin and Meadows played at No. 3 in the team’s lineup in both matches of the Big West Tournament…the tandem won three straight from April 7-11, including a three-set victory over a doubles team from Boise State (21-12, 18-21, 15-10).
High School
A 2017 graduate of Chiawana High School in Pasco, Wash…played four years of varsity volleyball for the Riverhawks…a two-time first team all-4A Mid-Columbia selection, Olin was named the co-league MVP as a senior after leading the Riverhawks to an 8-4 league record and a No. 2 seed at the 4A Regional playoffs…as a junior in 2015, she was a first team all-league selection and helped the team to a 16-6 overall record and a second place finishing 12-2 mark in league…served as the team captain each of her final two seasons…voted the team’s most inspirational player as a junior…a scholar-athlete, Olin had a 3.8 grade point average in high school and ranked among the top 10 percent of her class.
Personal
Parents are Dean and Sandra Olin…a child development major…played three years of club volleyball for the Columbia Juniors out of Pasco…as a setter, she ran a 5-1 offense in high school and 6-2 offense in club…her mother, Sandra, was a middle blocker at the University of Portland in 1990 and 1991.
