PARDEN SHOOTS 72 IN FINAL ROUND OF HUSKY INVITATIONAL

BREMERTON, Wash. — Sophomore Robert Parden recorded an even par 72 on Tuesday in the final round of the Husky Invitational.

Parden finished the tournament at 11-over with rounds of 74-81-72-227 to tie for 45th place. He began on the 10th hole with back-to-back birdies but bogeyed the par-3 12th. He moved back to 2-under with a birdie on the par-4 15th and made the turn at 1-under with bogey on No. 18. On the front side of the course, Parden parred seven holes but added a bogey on the par-4 second to finish even.

Taylor Knoll ranked second on the team during the third round with a 5-over par 77. Knoll finished in 50th place with a 54-hole total of 229. On Tuesday, he was 1-over through his first three holes with a birdie and two bogeys. A double bogey on No. 17 took him to 3-over and he played his final nine holes at 2-over.

Luke Kristo tied for 48th place after shooting 75-75-78-228. His final round had two birdies (Nos. 11 and 18), six bogeys and a double bogey. Aaron Beverly tied for 72nd place with a total of 241. Beverly was 2-over through his first nine holes but played the front nine at 7-over on Tuesday.

Cody Bates completed the lineup with a round of 82. The sophomore finished in 74th place overall. Bates had four birdies during his final round but also had eight bogeys and three double bogeys.

Oregon rallied during the final round, shooting 1-under as a team, to tie UCLA for the top spot. Both teams finished the tournament at 3-over par (867). San Diego State (873), Washington (874) and UC Davis (876) completed the top five.

UCLA's Jake Knapp was the medalist at 71-67-71-209. His total was three strokes ahead of San Diego State's Xander Schauffele.

Sacramento State will return to action on Monday, Sept. 29, at the Fresno State Classic.
