FT. COLLINS, Colo. — Sophomore Robert Parden shot 3-over par 73 to pace the Sacramento State men's golf team during the final round of the Ram Masters Invitational on Tuesday at the Ft. Collins Country Club. The Hornets finished 10th among the 15 teams.

The top three Sacramento State golfers all finished the 54 holes within one stroke of each other. Senior Luke Kristo shot 72-72-76-220 to tie for 29th place. Taylor Knoll and Parden totaled 221 to tie for 31st. On Tuesday, Parden had the worst score on the team through nine holes as he stood at 4-over. The first half of his round included a triple bogey on the par-4 third and a bogey on the par-4 fifth. He parred holes Nos. 5-11 before a birdie on the par-4 12th. Four more pars were intersected by a birdie on the par-5 15th to take him to 2-over on the day. He finished at 3-over with a bogey on the par-4 18th.

Taylor Knoll ranked second on the team on Tuesday with a round of 74. Knoll started with a birdie on the par-5 first. He stayed at 1-under until bogeying holes 5, 6 and 8. A birdie and bogey kept him at 2-over through 16 holes but he ended with consecutive bogeys.

Sophomore Aaron Beverly shot 75 and finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of 223 to tie for 43rd place. Beverly eagled the first hole but found himself in the black with a bogey on No. 2 and a double bogey on No. 4. He made the turn at 3-over and played the back nine at 2-over. His final nine holes were highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 15th.

Kristo and Cody Bates each shot 76 on Tuesday. Kristo opened with seven pars but bogeyed four of his next six holes. Two pars and a birdie on the par-5 15th placed him at 3-over. He closed his round with a bogey on No. 16 and a double bogey on No. 18.

Bates double bogeyed the first hole and was never able to return to par during the round. The sophomore led the Hornets with three birdies during the day (Nos. 3, 7 and 16) but also had five bogeys and a pair of double bogeys.

Host Colorado State maintained its first day lead to win the event by four strokes. The Rams shot 283-287-285 and were followed by Kansas, Denver, Nevada and McNeese State in the top five. Wyoming's Drew McCullough shot even par to become the medalist. McCullough had rounds of 68-70-72 and finished one stroke ahead of Kansas' Chase Hanna and Corey Eddings of Nevada.
