SPARKS, Nev. — Sacramento State started the day with a win by
Brock Gross in the heptathlon and finished with six school top 10 marks during the second day of the Wolf Pack Classic and Combined on Friday.

Gross entered the final three events in first place and never fell out of the top spot. He ran 8.58 in the 60-hurdles for the third-fastest time in the field. The junior then recorded career bests in the pole vault (13-01.5) and left little doubt in the 1000 with a time of 2:46.31. That time was second in the event and took nearly four seconds off his previous best. Gross' point total of 5,164 points placed him 77 points clear of the next competitor and moved him into fourth place in school history. His total was the best by a Hornet since Max Jette 5,213 in 2018.

Blake Gross also cracked the Sacramento State top 10 by totaling 4,959 points to finish sixth in program history and third in the meet.
Blake Gross had marks of 8.87 in the 60H, a career-best 13-01.50 in the pole vault and 2:48.99 in the 1000.

Cole Oliver completed the Hornet trio in the top 10. The freshman finished in 10
th place with 4,444 points and set career bests in all three events on Friday. Oliver ran 9.15 in the 60H, cleared 7-10.50 in the pole vault and finished the 1000 in 2:56.31.

The main program of the meet also began on Friday and will continue into Saturday.

Men's Track Highlights
- Tim Edwards, Jr., and Nathan Rider finished 1-2 in the 400 behind career bests and school top-10 performances. Edwards won the event for the first time in his young collegiate career, running 47.61 to move into fourth place in school history. His time took .36 seconds off his previous best. Rider was over a half-second back in 48.27 and now ranks 10th in the Hornet record book. He had previously owned a best of 48.72.
- Brandon Moreno finished in third place in the 800. Competing in the event for the first time this season, he ran 1:54.98 and had the second-fastest collegiate time in the field.

Women's Track Highlights
- S'niyah Cade, Jaylin Hunter and Jayla Cigar-Dingle recorded the three fastest 200 times by a Hornet woman this season. Cade is now eighth in Sacramento State history with a time of 24.36 which took over a half-second off her PR. Hunter shaved .28 seconds from her season-best after running 24.73. Cigar-Dingle also Pred in 24.78.

Men's Field Highlights
- Jamar Andrews, Jr., took fifth place in the long jump with a season-best. Andrews recorded a jump of 23-03.50 (7.10m) on his final attempt. He had three jumps of at least 23-feet during the day and moved into a tie for ninth place in the Big Sky this season.
- Quentin Mitchell moved into a tie for fifth place in school history in the high jump and finished in second place in the meet. Mitchell jumped 6-10.75 which drew him event with Anthony Williams in the Hornet record book.

Women's Field Highlights
- Hope Gordon set a massive PR in the weight throw. The senior threw 50-10.00 (15.49m) to finish in 12th place in the meet. Her distance was a four-foot improvement and makes her the second Hornet to surpass 50-feet this season in the event.
- Mara Vonnahme long jumped 18-08.00 (5.69m) to place sixth overall. Vonnahme improved her PR by 1.5 inches on her second attempt of the competition.
