SHARAN NAMED BIG SKY WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Senior led the team with three rounds of 71 at PDI Intercollegiate

FARMINGTON, Utah — Sacramento State senior Sneha Sharan was named the Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Sharan this year and the fourth of her career.

Competing at the PDI Intercollegiate in Orlando, Fla., Sharan shot 71-71-71-213 to record the best score for the Hornets. Her 54-hole total is tied for the second-lowest of her career and marked the first time this season that she has been below par in each round of a tournament. The senior completed the tournament with nine birdies, 39 pars and only six bogeys in the three days.

The  Bengaluru, India native, leads the team with a scoring average of 72.27 strokes per round this season in 15 rounds. Dating back to the fall, Sharan has now been even par or better in five consecutive rounds.

Sacramento State returns to action at the Causeway Invitational on Feb. 24-25 at Del Paso Country Club.
