SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State women's golf team will make its first appearance at the Golf Iconic Classic this week as the team will take part in the three-round tournament on Monday-Wednesday at the New Mexico State Golf Course. The event will have single 18-hole rounds each day.

The 19-team tournament will include two other teams from the Big Sky Conference in Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado. The Hornets will be paired with Boise State, UTEP and Santa Clara in a shotgun start which begins at 7:30 a.m. PT.

While this will be the Hornets' first time playing in the Golf Iconic Classic, it will be the team's second trip to the Land of Enchantment state this season. Sacramento State began the year with a win at the Dick Maguire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.

Through the first two tournaments of the season,
Ella Kraft leads the team with a scoring average of 72.67.
Tova Hatton is close behind at 73.00 and each have played four of their six rounds at par or better.
