FARMINGTON, Utah — Sacramento State senior
Ella Kraft was named the Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the second of Kraft's career.
Â
Competing at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., Kraft claimed her first collegiate victory with rounds of 70-69-72-211. That total was tied for the second-lowest of her career and made her just the second Hornet to win an individual title during the first tournament of the season. Kraft also moved into a tie with Jennifer Koga (2021-24) for the most career rounds in the 60s with 13.
Â
The Uppsala, Sweden native also helped the Hornets win the team championship. Sacramento State finished four strokes ahead of a Cal State Fullerton team which is coming off an NCAA Championships appearance.
Â
Sacramento State will next compete at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colo., on Sept. 22-24.
