The win against Portland marked Angela Lewis' first career victory as head beach coach of the Hornets. After today's matches, the Hornets moved their record to 1-2 on the young season.
In the win over Portland, Bridgette Smith/Caitlin Volkmann (No. 1), Karlie Spohn/Greta Davis (No. 3), Victoria Marthaler/Mia Guevara (No. 4) and Kate Doorn/Savannah Risley (No. 5) were also victorious.
Against Corban, the doubles teams of Smith/Volkmann (No.1) and Doorn/Risley (No. 5) played close three-set matches. Smith and Volkmann battled back from a five-point deficit in the third set, but fell just short 16-14.
