DAVIS, Calif. -- Sacramento State sent five players to the Aggie Tennis Invitational, held over the weekend at the Marya Welch Tennis Center in Davis.

The five Hornets - Nick Bowles, Henry Lamchinniah, Gur Libal, Hayden Rand and Miles Whitehead - each competed in both the singles and doubles draws of the three-day tournament. Rand is the only returner in the group while the other four are new to the program.

Sacramento State combined for six singles wins, and four doubles victories. That included the doubles team of Libal/Bowles posting a 3-1 record. In singles play, both Libal and Lamchinniah went 2-1. Complete results are listed below.

"I was pleased with our players' effort, and how they battled," Sacramento State head coach Kevin Kurtz said. "All of our guys played all three days, and wanted to play more. This was a good way to start the fall, and I look forward to watching our guys continue to improve."

The Hornets return to action for their second fall tournament Oct. 17-19 at the ITA Regional Qualifier in Seattle. The ITA Regional tournament will take place Oct. 20-22 in Seattle.
