GOLD RIVER, Calif. -- Sacramento State concluded the Lake Natoma Invitational with second place finishes in each of its four entries Sunday morning at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center.

The two-day, six-team regatta featured a lineup that boasted the 20th-ranked team in the nation (UCLA) as well as another currently receiving votes in the CRCA Coaches Top 20 poll (Miami). Other teams at the event included the Hornets, Tulsa, Gonzaga and Loyola Marymount. All six teams raced on Saturday, but just Gonzaga, LMU and the Hornets raced this morning.

Each race during the entire regatta featured a three or four-boat field (mainly three boats).

After combining to defeat Loyola Marymount on five occasions yesterday, the Hornets posted faster times than the Lions in three more races today. Like yesterday, the Hornets had entires in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity four.

Gonzaga won each of those four races today, while the Hornets finished second in all four.

Sacramento State's times today - varsity eight (6:45.3), second varsity eight (7:13.8), varsity four (8:02.7) and second varsity four (8:03.8). Today's conditions featured minimal to no wind, except for a slight cross head during the fours.

After racing three times in the last five weeks at home, Sacramento State will next compete on the road at the UC San Diego Invitational on Saturday, April 20. Only two more regular season regattas remain (WIRA Championship on April 27-28) before the American Athletic Conference Championship on May 12 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
