DAY 6
Sacramento State completed its second full day in Lisbon, and sixth day on its foreign tour to Portugal and Spain. Today was spent mostly sightseeing, and enjoying all Lisbon has to offer. Below is the sixth installment of a series of blogs every Hornet player will write during the trip. Today, we hear from sophomore defensive specialist
Abbey Kadillak.

I started my morning bright and early at 7 am, waking up to my roommate THE
Bridgette Smith, getting ready for a full day of sight seeing. The time change has been BRUTAL, I'm averaging about six hours of sleep a night. The team and I met downstairs for breakfast, and afterwards, began our adventure at 8 am by taking the metro to Castelo de São Jorge in Lisbon.
We took a few group photos before breaking off into smaller groups to explore the town and castle on our own. Arch (
Ashlynn Archer) and I decided to adventure together, first looking at the views and all the peacocks around the castle. I've never seen a castle like that in real life - it was interesting to see the historic events that took place.
After finishing at the castle we took on the town - shopping, taking photos, and eating good food! We did a lot of walking, and stopped at a coffee shop called The Folks. Arch and I found new places to shop and eventually stopped at Taqueria do Chiado for some lunch. After Arch and I finished, we met up with our other teammates and headed back to the hotel.
The main form of transportation is the metro, something we're not used to in America. So navigating which way to go is a fun challenge! After a long day of walking around, we got back around 5:30 pm, with a quick turnaround for dinner at 7 pm. We met up with the coaches and adults at the Time Out Market where we had over 20 options of food stands to choose from.
We got some free time afterward to explore the rest of the city with our team concluding a wonderful day! Obrigada for reading my blog! Miss you family, see you soon!
