SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Leading up to the start of the 2022 season on Sept. 3 against Utah Tech, Hornetsports.com will have a break down of each position group. Single-game and season tickets are available for online purchase HERE.

• Through the first six games last season, Cameron Skattebo had a total of 19 rushing yards on two carries. The the true freshman then broke on to the scene with a 117-yard effort against Northern Arizona and finished the year with 520 rushing yards and six touchdowns as a true freshman. Skattebo averaged an insane 9.1 yards per carry and had a long of at least 12 yards in each game in which he appeared in 2021. He scored touchdowns in five straight games and also added 12 receptions for 124 yards with a TD. Video game-like numbers are nothing new for the Rio Linda, Calif., native who finished his high school career with 6,192 rushing yards and 69 touchdowns.
• Marcus Fulcher, who is entering his third competitive season, is the most experienced running back on the 2022 roster. Fulcher played in 12 games as a true freshman in 2019 where he rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns. Last season, he amassed 241 yards and also caught 19 passes for 236 yards and a score.
• Elijah Tau-Tolliver, Elijah Gable and Michael Johnson also return at the position. Tau-Tolliver appeared in four games while maintaining his redshirt season. He was a weapon on special teams, recording seven tackles and also had three rush attempts for nine yards. Gable saw playing time in four games where he had 83 yards and 17 carries. He scored his first collegiate touchdown on a 33-yard rush against Portland State. Johnson did not appear in a game during his first collegiate season.
• Both newcomers are local products. Zeke Burnett prepped at Elk Grove HS where he was a three-star recruit from 247sports following a senior season where he rushed for 1,534 yards and 27 touchdowns. He finished the year with eight 100-yard games, including three over 200 yards. He also averaged 8.4 yards per carry to earn the Delta League MVP honors and be named to the Sacramento Bee all-metro team.
