OGDEN, Utah — Shantel Nnaji place third in the women's discus and LaTrouchka Duke ran the third fastest outdoor 100 in school history during the first day of the main program of the Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Weber State.

Nnaji earned all-Big Sky honors in the event for the second time in her career and scored six points for the team. Her best throw of 159-10 came on her first of six attempts. That distance also easily surpassed her season best of 152-11. Claire March added a point for the Hornets by placing eighth in the event with a long of 144-04.

Duke qualified for the finals of the 100 and 200. Her 100 time of 11.67 was the fastest in her heat and also the best wind-legal time during the day. The mark also ranks third in school history trailing only Donna Carley's school record of 11.45 in 1983 and Shilah Bedingfield's time of 11.46 in 2019. Duke also won her heat in the 200 by running 24.41. She will enter Saturday's final ranked second in the field behind Weber State's Emily Morgan who had a blistering time of 23.52.

Mikayla Revera also moved on to the finals in two events. She was fifth in the 200 with a time of 24.64 and also fifth in the 400 in 55.96.

Freshman Sarah Collier will join in the duo in the finals on Saturday as she had the fourth-fastest qualifying time in the 800 in 2:11.24.

The men were led by Alec Foster who punched his ticket in the 200 and 400. Foster's mark of 47.96 int he 400 was his fastest of the year and the third-fastest of the day. He will enter the finals seeded seventh in the 200 with a time of 21.61  which was also a season best.

Other highlights included:

• Meaghan Rogers (12.14) and Gianna Scruggs (12.53) setting PRs in the women's 100.
• Senior Artearra Coffey posting season bests in the 100H (14.42) and 400H (1:04.40) in her final meet with the Hornets.
• Freshman DeVonn Johnson tying his personal best in the 100 (10.96) and trimming nearly a half-second off his top 200 time by running 22.08.
• Elijah Dotson also set a PR in the 200 by running 22.61.
• Neil Laquian had over a foot improvement in the shot put with a long of 53-09.75.
