SEATTLE — Five Sacramento State athletes finished among the top five of their respective events during the final day of the Husky Classic on Saturday. The Hornets also accounted for six school top 10 marks during the second day of the meet.

Zach Coniglio and Erinn Jones finished third in the men's and women's shot put, respectively. Coniglio was the top collegiate finisher in the men's competition with a mark of 60-01.75. Jones set her season best at 50-04.00. The senior also moved into second place in the Big Sky this season and is now just 1.5 inches off the pace of Northern Arizona's Jessica Weise.

Sophomore Kristen Robinson ran 8.56 to place fourth in the finals of the 60-hurdles. Her time was .12 seconds better than her previous season best and is now the third fastest in the league this year. Dominique Whittington was fifth in the 400 after running 55.18. The senior's time places her second on the Big Sky leaderboard in 2015 and is the fastest non-adjusted mark.

Evan Crayton-Crogan was fifth in the men's 400. Crayton-Crogan, who was competing in the event for the first time this season, ran 48.37 for the third-fastest time in the Big Sky this year.

Kassandra Corrigan cleared 5-06.00 in the women's high jump to finish tied for seventh in the meet. Her mark was a quarter-inch better than her previous high and moved her into a four-way tie for third place in Sacramento State history. Amanda Garcia also cracked the Hornet top 10 in the women's 800. Garcia was over two seconds faster than her previous season best with a time of 2:13.21 which places her ninth in the school record book. Garcia also becomes the fifth member of this year's team to be represented on the all-time top 10 list in the 800.

Four men also placed their name or moved up on the Hornet top 10.Richard Casas added 2.25 inches to his career best in the shot put but remained sixth in school history. Newcomer Aric Walden ran 8.27 in the finals of the 60-hurdles and is now seventh at Sacramento State. Walden also jumped to fifth place in the Big Sky this season.

In the 60-meter dash, Eric Adorno ran 6.97 to finish 11th in the meet. However, his time is the fifth-fastest in the Big Sky this year and is tied for the eight-best by a Hornet athlete all-time. The final school top 10 mark came from freshman Kyle Orloff in the 400. Orloff ran 49.17 and is now eighth.

Sacramento State will have a quick turnaround as selected athletes will compete in the Run for the Dream meet in Fresno, Calif., on Monday.
