GREELEY, Colo. – Sacramento State battled for a tight win in the doubles point and swept through singles play to record a 7-0 Big Sky win on Saturday at Northern Colorado. The Hornets improved to 6-0 in the Big Sky and 8-10 overall while extending their Big Sky winning streak to 111 consecutive matches. Northern Colorado dropped to 7-7 overall and 5-2 in conference.

The Sacramento State pair of senior Katharina Knoebl and sophomore Daria Savchenko earned an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles, but the Hornets dropped their first doubles match in conference play this season as the Bears posted an 8-4 victory at No. 1. The doubles point came down to No. 3, where Hornet freshmen Deimante Bulatovaite and Alina Soltanici outlasted Adriana Nieto and Courtney Schulte 8-7 (6) to give the visitors the early lead.

In singles, Knoebl cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 and Savchenko won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1. Senior Sophie Lohscheidt earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3 and sophomore Olivia Boija had to battle for a 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory at No. 4.

Northern Colorado's Stephanie Catlin and Beth Coton each won sets in their singles matches at No. 2 and 6, respectively, but Soltanici fought for a 6-7 (4), 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 and Bulatovaite was able to claim a 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 victory at No. 6 to complete the sweep.

Sacramento State is now 35-1 in singles and 17-1 in doubles through six Big Sky matches. The Hornets continue conference play on Sunday morning at North Dakota.
