SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Taylor Knoll shot 67 in the first round and Riley Hayfield led Sacramento State with a 70 in the second round at the Bill Cullum Invitational. The first two rounds were scheduled to take place on Monday but a fog delay in the morning forced the second round to be suspended due to darkness.
As a team, the Hornets are 11th after shooting 287-295-582. Sacramento State was 1-under par during the opening round with Knoll leading the way at 5-under par. He was joined by an even-par 72 from Luke Kristo and three rounds of 74 from Hayfield, Robert Parden and Aaron Beverly.
In the second round, Hayfield was the lone Hornet to break par, coming in at 2-under. Kristo and Parden each shot 74 while Knoll and Beverly carded rounds of 77.
Knoll opened play on the 15th hole with consecutive pars before a bogey on the par-3 17th moved him to 1-over.
