SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State head men's soccer coach Michael Linenberger gained an eighth commitment for the upcoming 2026 campaign, welcoming Aptos, Calif., native David Sebastian Killpatrick to the fold.
"We are excited to add David Sebastian Killpatrick to our program for the fall," Linenberger said. "He is a fantastic athlete that can play as a center back and as a right back. He will provide valuable depth to our backline."
A three-year varsity letter winner for the Mariners at Aptos HS, Killpatrick was a three-time All-Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League honoree, picking up honorable mention honors as a sophomore, second-team laurels as a junior, and a first-team award as a senior.
He helped the Mariners to back-to-back league championships as a sophomore and junior before a stellar senior campaign that saw Aptos HS claim the CIF Central Coast Section title and qualify for the state tournament for the first time in school history. It was the furthest that the school's soccer program had ever advanced in the postseason.
Killpatrick finished with seven goals and seven assists as a senior while adding his fourth honor roll award and his third scholar-athlete honor in his career.
Along with his high school success, he played club for Los Gatos United from 2023-26, helping the club to a State Cup semifinal appearance, ECNL league title, ECNL playoff championship, and rank among the top six clubs in the nation.
Killpatrick is the latest addition to the roster for 2026, joining previous commitments from defender Mateus Romualdo (Snow College), midfielder Henry Hedden (Monte Vista HS), goalkeeper AJ Bengds (UNC Asheville), forward Jakub Kozlowski (Palomar College), defender Cameron Martino (Clovis East HS), defender James Murillo (Folsom Lake College), and midfielder Harrison Emert (Highline College).
