SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The 2026 roster for the Sacramento State men's soccer team continues to grow as Santa Rosa, Calif, native Chris Menjivar has committed to continue his academic and athletic career with the Hornets, Head Coach Michael Linenberger announced on Tuesday.
"We are excited to add another top freshman from Northern California to our 2026 recruiting class," Linenberger said. "Chris is a very clever and technical attacking player. He is left-footed and can play any of the front four positions. We expect him to contribute immediately."
Having spent the last two years playing with the San Jose Earthquakes Academy squad, Menjivar helped lead his Montgomery High School team to a third-place league finish and a berth into the round of 16 in the CIF North Coast Section Division I playoffs as a senior, averaging 1.54 goals per game and earning All-North Bay League Oak Division honors.
A finalist for the league's player of the year honor, he was selected to the Team South all-star game roster, scoring the game winner and earning MVP honors.
Menjivar is the ninth addition to the roster for 2026, joining previous commitments from defender Mateus Romualdo (Snow College), midfielder Henry Hedden (Monte Vista HS), goalkeeper AJ Bengds (UNC Asheville), forward Jakub Kozlowski (Palomar College), defender Cameron Martino (Clovis East HS), defender James Murillo (Folsom Lake College), midfielder Harrison Emert (Highline College), and defender David Sebastian Killpatrick (Aptos HS).
