SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After racking up the frequent flier miles with its last eight games on the road, the Sacramento State baseball team returns home for an extended six-game homestand beginning with a pair of midweek games against local rivals Nevada and Fresno State to kick off the week at John Smith Field.
The Hornets and Wolf Pack meet for the first time this season on Monday (April 6) before the Bulldogs make a return trip to Sacramento on Tuesday (April 7). Both games are scheduled for a 6 p.m first pitch and will be streamed live on the ESPN+ platform.

• One of the longest-running series in the history of the program, Tuesday marks the 182nd meeting between the Hornets and the Bulldogs according to available records

• The 181 meetings with the Bulldogs ranks fourth in terms of all-time meetings among Sacramento State opponents behind UC Davis (244), Pacific (191), and Nevada (186)

• The Hornets salvaged a win in the series with a wild 13-11 victory on Sunday, hanging on after the Trailblazers scored seven runs in the final two innings and had the winning run on base before Sacramento State shut the door
• Three Hornet hitters are batting better than .300 in midweek games this year: senior Jace Jeremiah (.364), junior Erick Dessens (.355), and junior Jakob Poturnak (.333)
• As a team, Sacramento State is hitting .257 in seven midweek contests, while the pitching staff has limited opponents to a .240 average in those same seven contests
• Sophomore RHP Chase Sorlie has pitched in five of those seven games (making two starts), posting a 3.46 ERA in 13 innings, holding opponents to a .191 average and striking out eight against four walks

• During his streak, Harry is batting .525 (21-for-40) with 14 runs scored and six RBI, collecting four doubles and adding six walks while elevating his batting average by 96 points to .331 on the year
• Dessens was red-hot against the Trailblazers last week, hitting a team-high .643 (9-for-14) with four runs scored, a pair of home runs, and nine RBI while slugging 1.071 for the week and posting a .667 on-base percentage
• With the nine hits over the weekend, Dessens enters the week atop the WAC leaderboard with 49 while standing second in RBI (39), tied for sixth in home runs (8), and ninth in slugging (.582)
• In addition to his second three-hit game of the series, senior Luis Pimentel-Guerrero tied his Sacramento State career high with four RBI in the series finale — a mark originally set against Nevada on March 10 of last season and matched earlier this year against Saint Joseph's on Feb. 22 as part of a four-hit day
