SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State completed a perfect showing at the Beach Bash after defeating Corban, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at Hornet Beach.

Coupled with yesterday's wins over San Francisco and Portland, the Hornets completed a perfect 3-0 tournament, which also were the team's first home matches of the season.

Sacramento State has won five straight matches - the longest winning streak in school history. The Hornets' first year of beach volleyball was 2013. The Hornets improved to 8-5, and have not lost since February.

In today's win, the Hornets' Kate Doorn/Mia Guevara (No. 2), Victoria Marthaler/Aurora Bibolotti (No. 3) and Karlie Spohn/Greta Davis (No. 4) each won in straight sets. At No. 5, Sacramento State's Skyler Gartin/Keonahi'ilani Solaita won in three sets.

At No. 1, the Hornets' Ashlynn Archer/Reese Ampi lost a very tight match, 22-20, 20-22, 15-13.

Both Doorn/Guevara and Gartin/Solaita have won five straight matches, while Davis/Spohn have won four straight.

Sacramento State returns to the sand for the Big West Challenge in Long Beach on Friday-Sunday. The Hornets open against 13th-ranked Hawaii on Friday at 10 a.m.
