SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State will be the No. 7 seed for the Big West Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament this week at Ocean Park in Santa Monica. The Hornets begin the tournament Thursday against No. 2 seed (and ranked 10th nationally) Long Beach State at 1:15 p.m.
The conference's seven teams will compete in the double-elimination tournament to determine the Big West champion.

The Big West currently boasts three nationally ranked teams, comprised of sixth-ranked Cal Poly, 10th-ranked Long Beach State, and 15th-ranked Hawai'i. The tournament is being played at Ocean Park in Santa Monica, Calif., and is hosted by CSUN.
A Big West-sponsored sport since 2016, three teams have won the tournament title - Hawai'i (2016-18, 2024), Long Beach State (2023) and Cal Poly (2019-22).
Live stats will be offered for all matches. There will be no video stream.
Sacramento State finished the regular season with a 7-17 record. The Hornets are making their ninth appearance at the Big West Championship.
The winner of the Big West Tournament receives an automatic berth to the National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship which takes place May 2-4 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
