SACRAMENTO -- After being named the Big Sky Conference MVP two weeks ago, sophomore outside hitter
Victoria Marthaler added another accolade to her incredible season - honorable mention all-Pacific Region honors.
Sacramento State (20-10, 12-4) concluded its season a week ago, and resides in arguably the toughest region in the nation. The Pacific Region encompasses every team in the states of California, Arizona, Hawaii and Alaska. Marthaler becomes just the second Hornet in the last 10 years to be named all-region, joining
Bridgette Smith who was named honorable mention in 2023.
Overall, Marthaler is the eighth Hornet to receive all-region accolades since the program joining the Div. I ranks in 1991. Each of the country's 10 regions receives 14 first team nods, and between six and nine honorable mention selections.
