Abbey Kadillak have been named the Big Sky Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, after helping the Hornets to a pair of road victories last week.
The Hornets defeated both Idaho State (3-1) and Weber State (3-0), and now sit in a tie for second place in the Big Sky standings at 15-8 overall and 8-3 in the conference.
In the two wins, Solaita averaged 4.14 kills per set while hitting .456. In seven sets, she posted 29 kills with just three errors in 57 swings. The Hesperia, Calif., native also added two aces, and was a catalyst for a Hornet offense that finished the week hitting .314. 
In the win at Idaho State, Solaita posted career highs in kills (20) and hitting percentage (.529) while also adding a pair of aces. In the victory at Weber State, which included a kill on match point, Solaita had nine kills and a .348 hitting percentage.
In her last five matches, the freshman is averaging 3.38 kills and 0.75 aces per set to go along with a .460 hitting percentage. In conference play, she is averaging 2.53 kills, 0.48 aces and 2.13 digs per set.
Kadillak was a catalyst for a Hornet defense that limited the opposition to a .134 hitting percentage. She finished the week with an average of 4.86 digs per set. The Manteca, Calif., native posted a season-high 21 digs at Idaho State, and added 13 digs at Weber State. Both of those marks were the most by any player in the match.
Winners of six straight, Sacramento State will play twice at home this week - Thursday vs. Northern Arizona at 7 p.m., and Saturday vs. Northern Colorado at 1 p.m. Northern Arizona (9-2) currently sits in first place while the Hornets are tied for second with Northern Colorado (8-3) in what is set up for a huge week for Sacramento State.
