PULLMAN, Wash. —The Sacramento State men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Palouse Collegiate on Wednesday. The Hornets shot 276-276-285-837 to finish at 15-under par. The total score was tied for the third-lowest in school history.

Luke Dugger led the team in the final round on Wednesday, shooting a 1-under par 70. The team also counted scores from Patrick Dumag (71), Zach Mate (72) and Max Thomas (72).

Mate and Thomas each totaled 209 to tie for 25th place for the best finish on the team. The pair were 4-under par and found themselves 17 strokes off the lead of Utah's Sergio Jimenez who was the medalist by six strokes.

Dugger had rounds of 66-74-70-210 to tie for 32nd place. Dumag recorded the three lowest rounds of his Sacramento State career (72-69-71-212) and bettered his 54-hole total by 13 strokes on the way to tying for 38th place.

Utah continued its hot play and won the tournament by 18 strokes. The Utes were 52-strokes under par and were followed by Colorado (-34), Oregon State (-28), Washington State (-24) and SeattleU (-22) in the top five.

Sacramento State will next compete at the Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., on Sept. 17-18.
