MEN’S TENNIS SWEEPS HAWAI’I, REMAINS UNBEATEN AT HOME

SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State's Adam Chodur, Jiri Novak and Michael Kaplan each won in straight sets to help lead the Hornets to a 4-0 sweep of Hawai'i on Friday afternoon on campus.

The match was the first of the Golden State Invitational, and the Hornets conclude tourney play tomorrow at noon vs. Jessup at home.

Sacramento State improved to 7-4 overall and 5-0 at home against a Hawai'i squad that dropped to 4-7, and 3-2 on the road.

The Hornets had little trouble this afternoon, as Chodur (6-1, 6-1 at No. 4), Novak (6-1, 6-4 at No. 5) and Kaplan (6-2, 6-0 at No. 6) each won handily. In addition, the Hornets' other three singles players (Mark Keki, Mate Voros, Jan Silva) were leading when the match was halted because Sacramento State already had the necessary four points to win.

The Hornets received doubles victories from Keki/Voros (6-2 at No. 1) and Novak/Silva (6-0 at No. 3) to clinch the point.

Chodur improved to 7-1 in singles play this year, while Keki moved his record to 6-2.
