DUMAG, DUGGER LEAD MEN'S GOLF IN SECOND ROUND AT BAYONET

Pair each shoot even par in second round of Leadership and Golf Collegiate Championship

SEASIDE, Calif. — After a lengthy fog delay to start the day, the Sacramento State men's golf team was able to improve its score by four shots and move up two spots in the team standings during the second day of the Leadership and Golf Collegiate Championship at Bayonet GC.

The Hornets received even-par rounds from Patrick Dumag and Luke Dugger on the way to shooting 298 as a team. Dumag moved up 13 spots into a tie for 21st overall while Dugger had a 24 spot improvement and is now tied for 32nd place.

Max Thomas added his second consecutive round of 76 while Zach Mate shot 78 to round out the team score. Thomas had three birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey. Mate had two birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey.

None of the 14 teams were under par during the second round as BYU led the field with an even-par team total of 288. The Cougars will take a 4-stroke lead into the final round and sit at 7-under as a team. Santa Clara is second at 3-under while Sam Houston (1-under), Pacific (4-over) and SeattleU (4-over) complete the top five.
