SACRAMENTO, Calif. — March Madness will return to Golden1 Center as Sacramento State was selected to host the first and second rounds of the 2027 NCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Tournament, it was announced today. Sacramento State will also serve as the host site of the 2026 NCAA Div. I Cross Country West Regional.

Sacramento State will partner with Visit Sacramento to host both NCAA postseason events. The pair was already scheduled to host the 2025 NCAA Div. I Cross Country West Regional and the 2026 NCAA Div. I Women's Basketball Regional.

"The region has truly embraced the men's basketball tournament and has created one of the best environments across the country. We look forward to working with Visit Sacramento and Golden1 Center to create another memorable experience in one of the best arenas in the nation."

Golden1 Center was previously selected to be the site of the first and second rounds of the tournament in 2017, 2020 and 2023.

Haggin Oaks Golf Course will again be the site for the NCAA Cross Country West Regional. The venue has previously hosted the event in 2013, 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2023 as well as the 2019 NCAA Div. II Championships.
