MEN’S TENNIS FALLS AT SAN DIEGO STATE, 4-1

SAN DIEGO -- Sacramento State's Mark Keki won his match at No. 1 singles, but Sacramento State fell on the road at San Diego State, 4-1, on Friday evening at Aztec Tennis Center.

The match was originally scheduled to play on Sunday, but inclement weather was in the forecast for this weekend so the teams decided to move the match to today.

San Diego State improved to 2-0, which includes a 4-3 win over BYU in the season opener. Sacramento State, which defeated UC San Diego yesterday, fell to 1-1.

The Aztecs won the doubles point, and picked up singles victories at No. 3, 5 and 6. Keki won his match in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) over Johannes Seeman to tie the score at 1-1, but the Aztecs won the next three singles matches to earn the victory.

Jan Silva's match at No. 2, and Adam Chodur's match at No. 4 were not finished after San Diego State earned the four points to win. Chodur was locked in a three-set match with his opponent Eugenio Fitzmaurice.

The Hornets will play three times at home next week, including a Friday matchup with William Jessup at 1 p.m. On Sunday, Sacramento State will play a doubleheader vs. Fresno Pacific at 10 a.m., followed by American River College at 1 p.m.
