RENO, Nev. -- Abigail Lopez and Jordan Goularte combined for half of Sacramento State's eight shot attempts on the night, but the visiting Hornets could not put one past the Nevada defense on Sunday, falling to the host Wolf Pack by a 3-0 score at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev.
Coming off a 1-1 draw with rival UC Davis earlier in the week, Sacramento State fell to 0-4-2 overall on the season, while Nevada earned its first victory of 2022, improving to 1-2-1 on the year.
Aubrey Goodwill, Kalista Hardy, Madelyn Dougherty, and Heather Tarabini, added attempts for the Hornets, but it wasn't enough to pierce the Wolf Pack defense led by goalkeeper Kendall Stovall, who made three saves in the shutout.
Luz Arreaga put Sacramento State in an early hole with a first-half brace, scoring in the 10th and 29th minutes for a 2-0 advantage at the break. She then added an assist on Brooklyn Blake's second-half score in the 53rd minute for a five-point night and the final 3-0 score.
Goalkeeper Mia Shalit, who entered the week ranked among the top 10 in the nation in saves and saves per game, finished with three stops on the night, bringing her total to 35 on the year.
With her two attempts, Lopez now leads the squad with nine shot attempts on the year (six of those on frame), while Goularte doubled her season total with Sunday night's effort and now has four on the year, which is tied for third on the squad.
