KIM GRAHAM MILLER TO SERVE AS HEAD COACH AT UC SAN DIEGO

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State assistant track and field coach Kim Graham Miller has accepted the men's and women's head coaching position at UC San Diego.

Graham Miller served as an assistant coach with the Hornets from 2014 through the 2022 season. During her time at Sacramento State, she part of six Big Sky Championship teams, coached Shilah Bedingfield to honorable mention All-America honors in 2019 and numerous all-Big Sky honorees.

Her student-athletes have combined to set nearly 50 school top 10 records. Included in that list are five school records from Bedingfield (7.52 in the indoor 60, 22.95 in the outdoor 200 and 53.02 in the outdoor 400), Caprice Powell (23.98 in the indoor 200) and Dominique Whittington (53.91 in the indoor 400).

"This is a great opportunity for Coach Graham Miller to become a Division I head coach and I look forward to seeing her succeed," Sacramento State Director of Track & Field Kenny McDaniel said. "I want to thank her for her time and dedication to the the student-athletes throughout her time at Sacramento State."

Prior to coming to Sacramento State, Graham Miller coached at UC Davis, Duke, Virginia and Illinois.

A decorated athlete, Graham Miller competed at Clemson where she was a three-time ACC Performer of the Year — the only woman to earn that honor. She went on to compete in the 1995 Indoor and Outdoor World Championships in the 400 and was a member of the United States' 4x400 relay team which won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Graham Miller was inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame in1999.
