DAVIS, Calif. -- On its final day of the regular season, Sacramento State split a pair of matches at the UCD Beach Volleyball Courts. The Hornets opened the day with a 4-1 loss to UC Davis, before bouncing back to defeat San Francisco 3-2.

Today's matches served as the final tuneup for next week's Big West Conference Tournament in San Luis Obispo April 28-30.

Today's win over San Francisco moved the Hornets' record over the Dons this season to 3-1.

For the first time in well over a month, the Hornets were in full health and were able to play all five pairs.

While the Hornets dropped their first match against UC Davis, the No. 1 pair of Bridgette Smith/Caitlin Volkmann won both their matches today. That included a straight set win (21-19, 21-16) over the Aggies' top pair.

In today's win over USF, the Hornets got wins from Smith/Volkmann (18-21, 21-16, 16-14 at No. 1), McKenna Smith/Ashtin Olin (21-14, 21-14 at No. 2), and  Macey Hayden/Kalani Hayes (21-11, 21-16 at No. 3).

The combination of Olin/Smith moved their record to 10-3 this season.
