UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — The Sacramento State women's golf team wrapped up its final tournament before heading to the Big Sky Championships next week in unusual fashion as snow fell at Chambers Bay GC over the final few holes on Tuesday. As expected in those conditions, scores were high throughout the final round of the Seattle Redhawk Invitational where the Hornets finished in seventh place.
Jennifer Koga had the lowest score on the team in the final round, shooting 75 to finish in 24th place. Koga had three birdies and six bogeys in her round.
Tess Blair tied for 13th overall with rounds of 77-71-77-225. Blair has now finished among the top 20 in eight of the team's nine tournaments this season. Her third round was comprised of two birdies and seven bogeys.
Freshman Sneha Sharan placed 20th overall at 77-73-78-228. Sharan led the team with three birdies and also had five bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey.
Caitlin Maurice provided the final score towards the team total with a final round 81.
Sacramento State will begin the Big Sky Championships at Talking Stick Resort in Phoenix on Apr. 18. The team will be paired with Southern Utah in the first round beginning at 7 a.m.
