Hunter Marks highlights
SACRAMENTO -- Hunter Marks, a 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward, is transferring from Hartford to play at Sacramento State, it was announced today by Hornet first-year head coach David Patrick. Marks played four years at Hartford, and will have one season of eligibility in a Sacramento State uniform.
Marks is the first signee by Patrick, who took over the Sacramento State head coaching job just six days ago. In addition, Marks, who hails from Phillip Island, Australia, will become the first Australian-born player to appear in a Hornet uniform.
Patrick quote - "Hunter gives us size and versatility on the wing and in the post. He can stretch the floor from the 3-point line, plays above the rim, and will help our program immediately. He's from a winning program and has NCAA Tournament experience. We are very excited that Hunter has become our first signee."

• Appeared in 87 games over four years (1998-02) for Hartford, the last three of which as a starter.
• Team captain each of his final two seasons.
• A three-year starter, Marks started each of the last 76 games in which he appeared.
• Averaged better than nine points and 32 minutes each of his final three seasons, including 11.7 points in 2021-22.
• A career 77% free throw shooter (209-for-271).
• This past season, he averaged 11.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 32.5 minutes per game while shooting 56% (72-129) from the field, 43% (20-47) from the 3-point line, and 84% (58-69) from the free throw line.
• Scored in double figures 10 times during the season, including a career-best 31 points in 40 minutes at Sacred Heart.
• Part of the 2020-21 Hartford squad that won the America East Tournament championship and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
• That season (his junior year), he started all 24 games while averaging 9.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Named to the America East all-Championship Team and America East all-academic.
• As a sophomore, he finished second on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.1 rpg) while averaging 34.9 minutes and finishing second in the America East in total minutes played (1,152).
• Played in 11 games as a freshman.
• Has four-year career averages of 9.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 30.3 minutes per game. Of his 428 rebounds, 100 have come on the offensive glass.
• As a forward, he finished his Hartford tenure with more assists than turnovers.
• Posted 813 points, 428 rebounds, 131 assists and 2,640 minutes played during his four seasons with the Hawks.
• Attended Wonthaggi Secondary College, and played for the Casey Basketball Association in Australia.
• Averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Big V Youth League Division.
