The Bengals tacked on another run in the top of the sixth after Creekmore's sacrifice fly scored Kacie Burnett from third base.
Sacramento State mounted its first rally of the game in the bottom of the sixth, as a Jade Arslanian walk, Shelby Johnston single and an ISU error loaded the bases with no out. However, the Hornets would score just once in the inning on a sacrifice fly from Suzy Brookshire to cut the deficit to 3-1.
