Biography

2017 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection after making a team-high 28 appearances in the circle…all 28 of those outings were starts…finished the season with eight wins, six complete games, two shutouts and a team-best 2.83 ERA…had 141 strikeouts in 131.0 innings and limited the opposition to just a .221 batting average…led or tied for the team lead in wins, ERA, starts, innings, strikeouts and opponents batting average…among Big Sky leaders, she was first in opponents batting average, and fourth in both strikeouts and ERA…two-time Big Sky Pitcher of the Week on March 22 and May 8…named the Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week on May 1…struck out 50 batters looking…won four of her final five decisions of the season…allowed two earned runs or less in each of her final six outings of the season, and in 18 appearances overall…threw a four-hit shutout against Weber State, and a one-hit shutout against Southern Utah…struck out a career-high 11 batters against Montana…also had 10 strikeouts vs. Northern Colorado…won four games and posted a 2.49 ERA with 73 strikeouts in 56.1 innings against Big Sky opposition…finished her two-year career with 10 victories and a 3.18 ERA in 156.1 innings pitched…a Big Sky all-academic selection.

2016 Season
Made 11 appearances in the circle in her first season with the Hornets…started six games and threw 25.1 innings during the season…went 2-1 with a 4.97 ERA…earned her first win of the season in a 4-2 victory at Nevada in which she allowed just five hits and two runs in six innings of work…also got a win at home against North Dakota, throwing the first four innings of that game…threw two relief innings of shutout ball at Pacific, striking out five batters.

Prior to Sacramento State

Played two seasons at Cabrillo College in Aptos, Calif…during her sophomore season, Tessier helped lead the Seahawks to a 32-14 record and an appearance in the California Community College Athletic Association Regional Playoffs…named first team all-state, the Coast Conference South Pitcher of the Year and first team all-league after going 21-12 with a 1.32 ERA, including 279 strikeouts in 196.1 innings of work…the strikeouts were the second best mark in the state (and tops in Northern California) among all community college pitchers and the ERA was the fourth best mark…averaged 9.9 strikeouts per seven innings, had a 6.3-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and appeared in 36 of the team’s 46 games…allowed just 10 extra base hits all season, and had 12 games where she struck out at least 10 batters…that included a perfect game in a 9-0 five-inning victory against Barstow College in which she struck out 14 of the 15 batters she faced…a first team all-conference selection as a freshman after helping Cabrillo to a 26-13 record…that season, she went 15-7 with a 2.79 ERA, including 171 strikeouts and just 26 walks in 153.0 innings…over her two-year career at Cabrillo, Tessier went 36-19 with a 1.96 ERA, struck out 450 batters in 349.1 innings, and posted a 6.4-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (450 strikeouts, 70 walks).

High School
A 2013 graduate of Soquel High School in the Santa Cruz area…pitched on the varsity squad during both her freshman and sophomore seasons, but did not play as a junior or senior.

Personal
Parents are Gregg and Amy Tessier…a kinesiology major who graduated in May of 2017…competed in Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting for Santa Cruz Strength.
