SPOKANE, Wash. — Freshman
Emilia Schneider shot rounds of 69 and 73 and is tied for the lead after the first two rounds of the Kalispel Invitational on Monday at Kalispel GCC. The Hornets are tied for sixth place heading into the final round on Tuesday.

Schneider birdied her final five holes of the morning round to finish at 3-under. She opened plan on the fourth hole and was even until a bogey on the par-3 ninth. Schneider returned to even with a birdie on the par-5 12
th. Bogeys on Nos. 13 and 14 took her to 2-over where she remained until a birdie on the par-3 17
th started her comeback. She went on to birdie the par-4 18
th, first and second as well as the par-5 third to get to 3-under.

Schneider was 3-over through four holes of the second round before playing the next 14 holes at 2-under. She birdied the par-5 12
th and par-4 14
th, bogeyed the par-4 15
th and added her final birdie on No. 18. Her total of 142 ties her with Fresno State's Ariya Soldwisch for first place. The pair are one-shot ahead of pair of golfers who are tied for third and four others who are even and tied for fifth.

Jocelyn Tseng is tied for ninth overall while competing as an individual. Tseng was 2-over in the first round and followed with a 1-under par 71 in the afternoon. She was 3-over through four holes in the morning but had two birdies and one bogey over her next 14 holes. In the second round, she birdied her second hole and then ran off 11 straight pars. Birdies on the par-3 11
th and par-5 12
th took her to 3-under but she had a double-bogey on the par-4 14
th.

Tova Hatton had rounds of 75-71-146 and is tied for 12
th place. Hatton was 4-over but ended her first round with a birdie on the par-5 third. She started the second round with three-straight bogeys but those proved to be her only ones of the round. Hatton birdied the par-3 seventh, the par-5 10
th and 12
th and closed with a birdie on the par-5 third.

The team also counted rounds from
Sophia Lee (73-80) and
Darla May Dela Torre (78-76) towards its total.

Boise State holds a 12-stroke lead in the team standings. The Broncos shot 293-283-575 as a team and are trailed by Fresno State (587) and Grand Canyon (590) in the top three. Sacramento State finished at 18-over (594).

The third round will have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The Hornets will be paired with Gonzaga, San Francisco and Utah Tech beginning on holes Nos. 5-9.
