SACRAMENTO -- Seven Sacramento State rowers were recipient of the National Scholar Athlete Award, it was announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
This year's award winners are comprised of seniors
Ruth Brooks,
Nieka Marais,
Jamisen Rasmussen,
Emma Stockton and
Harper Waring, and juniors
Kaylee Godwin and
Savannah Keith.
To qualify, an athlete must be in at least their second year of eligibility, maintain an average cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and rowed in their institution's NCAA eligible boats for a minimum of 75 percent of the spring races or race in an NCAA boat at their conference championship.
Marais, Stockton and Waring each earned the honor for the third straight year, and Brooks and Godwin their second consecutive season.
The accolades mark the 14th straight year, and 15th time in the last 17 years, Sacramento State has seen at least four of its student-athletes receive the National Scholar-Athlete Award.
