Kara Houghton tied for second on floor to lift the Sacramento State gymnastics team to its second-highest score of the season on Friday night at Alaska Airlines Arena. The Hornets scored 194.800 while host Washington totaled 195.725.

Sacramento State opened the meet on bars with a 48.900 for its highest event score of the evening. The team counted five scores of 9.750 or better led by
Jillianne Lastra who tied for third place while tying her season-high with a 9.825.

Lutrel paced the team on vault in the second rotation with a 9.800 while
Rose Wilson added a 9.725. Those scores carried the team to a 48.450 in the event.

The Hornets outscored the UW during the third rotation with Sacramento State receiving a 48.800 on floor compared to a 48.550 on beam from the Huskies. Houghton scored 9.850 and ended the meet tied with Washington's Caitlin Williams for the top spot in the event. The share of the title was her fifth of the season on floor.
Cady Gaumont set her career high with a 9.800 to tie for fourth while
Athena Jones was ninth with a 9.750.

The team continued its strong finish to the meet on beam with a 48.650. That score gave the team a win on the event over Washington. Lutrel led the way with a 9.800 to take fourth place overall.
Kaitlyn Driessen (9.775) and Houghton (9.750) were close behind to place fifth and sixth, respectively.

Lutrel surpassed 39 points in the all-around for the second-consecutive meet. The senior had scores of 9.800 on vault, 9.775 on bars, 9.800 on beam and 9.725 on floor to finish with a total of 39.100. The win was her second in the all-around this season and the sixth of her career.

Sacramento State will next compete at the MPSF Championships at Southern Utah on March 21.
