SACRAMENTO, Calif. — For the 21^st time in program history, the Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. The Hornets men will run the 8K race at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday morning while the women's 6K will take place at 9:30. Both races will be held at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif., and will be followed by a pair of open races.

The meet is the final regular season competition for Sacramento State prior to The Big West Championship on Halloween morning and the NCAA West Regional in Sacramento on Nov. 13.

Last season, the Hornet women finished in fourth place and then men took 12^th. Five members from last year's lineup will return for the women led by Kate Sanders and Marina Lipary who took 21^st and 25^th place, respectively.

Brandon Moreno is the only member of the men's team who will return from a year ago. Moreno ran 25:06.1 to place 59^th. The team was led by Ryan Martin who finished sixth in 23:55.1. Martin, however, will miss his second-straight meet this season due to an injury.

The meet will give Sacramento State a good look at the competition in The Big West Championship as Cal Poly, Cal State Bakersfield and Long Beach State are all scheduled to run.
