SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams will reach the midway point of their seasons when they compete at the Pacific Invitational on Friday afternoon at Micke Grove GC in Lodi, Calif. The Hornet men will compete in the 8K race at 4:30 p.m. with the women running the 6K at 5:15 p.m.

The meet will feature eight schools from Northern California, including four NCAA Div. I institutions. The Hornets last competed at the meet in 2023 where the women were second and the men finished third. Molly Latincsics won the women's 6K in 20:42.6 and Dani Gee placed fifth (21:12.5). The men were led by Aiden Maddison who placed eighth in the 8K in 25:01.2.

Sacramento State has competed in two meets this season and were led by
Ryan Martin and
Taylor Wellersdick in both competitions. The team most recently competed at the UCR Invitational on Sept. 19. The women finished in eighth place out of 30 teams with Wellersdick taking eighth in the individual standings with a time of 20:35.8. The men were 16
th out of 25 teams and were paced by Martin who ran 24:00.1 to take 15
th place.
