HONOLULU, Hawaii -- The Sacramento State women's tennis team turned the tables on host Hawai'i on Friday, jumping out to a quick lead in the second match against the Rainbow Wahine in as many days, but the Hornets could not wrap up their three-match trip to Honolulu with a victory, falling by a 4-3 score for the second straight day on Friday.

The loss dropped Sacramento State to 1-2 overall on the year as the Hornets head home to host Saint Mary's on Jan. 31 at Noon. Hawai'i improved to 2-1 with the victory.

After dropping the doubles point in the first meeting between the two programs on Thursday, it was Sacramento State that got out in front quickly, posting wins at the No. 3 and No. 1 spots, respectively, to go up 1-0 overall in the contest. The tandem of Lou Baudouin and Emilija Pranyte won 6-2 before Cami Maldonado Gutierrez and Irene Riva clinched the point with a 6-3 victory.

Hawai'i tied things up with a quick win at the No. 1 singles spot, but the Hornets regained the lead with a win by Baudouin at No. 3, posting a 6-2, 6-3, victory over Emma Forgac. 

The Rainbow Wahine then railed off three straight wins to erase the deficit and clinch the match, gaining victories at the No. 4, No. 6, and No. 5 spots — including three-set triumphs at the latter two positions — en route to the win.

Junior Reese Walker made it a one-point dual with her three-set win at No. 2, coming back from a first-set loss to defeat Makeilah Nepomuceno in a marathon, 6-7, 7-5, 7-5. Walker improved to 2-0 in three-set matches this year.

Baudouin remained undefeated in singles in improving to 2-0 overall, while Walker won for the second time in three duals.
