OREM, Utah — Facing its second nationally ranked opponent of the season in its first five matches, the Sacramento State men's soccer team could not find a rhythm on offense on Thursday night in Orem, Utah, falling to No. 18 Utah Valley by a 3-0 count at UCCU Stadium.

Battistessa and teammate Zac Giles each tested UVU goalkeeper Kolby Sessions early in the second half before the Wolverines were able to double their lead with a second goal in the 57th minute to make it 2-0. The home side then capped the scoring with the final tally in the 88th minute.

Utah Valley finished with a 21-8 shot advantage, but managed on seven of those on frame to five for the Hornets, while holding possession for 61 percent of the clock to 39 percent for Sacramento State.
