SACRAMENTO, Calif. — For the fourth consecutive season, the Sacramento State football team will play in front of a national television audience as the team's 2025 game against Montana was selected by ESPN2, it was announced today.
Â
The game will now take place on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. PT and mark the second time the Hornets and Griz have played on the network. Sacramento State topped Montana, 31-24, in an overtime battle between a pair of top 10 teams in 2022. The Hornets hosted Montana State on ESPN2 the following year and played at San Jose State on TruTV to begin the 2024 season.
Â
This year's game is one of four Big Sky contests that will air on an ESPN network. The other games selected were the Sept. 27 game featuring Idaho at Montana, the Oct. 31 game with Idaho at Northern Arizona and the Nov. 15 game with UC Davis at Montana State.
Â
The Big Sky Conference will also continue its partnership with ESPN+. The remaining five home games as well as the four conference road games for the Hornets will be streamed on ESPN+ during the year.
Â
Kick off times for the remainder of the team's games will be announced during the summer.
