SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State signed Northern Arizona transfer and 6-foot-6 guard Arman Madi, it was announced today by first-year head coach
Mike Bibby.
Madi is the 11th player to sign since Bibby was introduced as head coach on April 1. He joins forwards
Jeremiah Cherry,
Brandon Gardner and
Shaqir O'Neal, as well as guards
Zach Anderson,
Isaiah Bronson,
Taj Glover,
Romari Robinson,
Jahni Summers,
Jayden Teat and
Mikey Williams Local product
Mark Lavrenov, a forward, also signed with Sacramento State during the early period.
The Hornets currently have 12 players on the roster.
The Madi File
• A 6-6, 205-pound guard from Phoenix, Ariz.
• Transfer from Northern Arizona where he spent two seasons (2023-25)
• Will be a sophomore for the Hornets
• Redshirted this past season at NAU
• As a freshman (2023-24), he played in 20 games for the Lumberjacks
• Averaged 7.5 minutes per game as a freshman, shooting 54% (7-13) from the 3-point line and 90% (9-10) from the free throw line
• Converted on seven of his final nine 3-point attempts of the season
• Season-high eight points (3-6 FG, 2-3 3FG) at Omaha
• A 2023 graduate of Brophy College Prep in Phoenix
• Played four years of varsity ball for the Broncos
• A three-time all-region selection, Madi raised his scoring average all four years of his prep career
• Averaged at least 13.0 ppg all four years, culminating in a senior season in which he averaged 18.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 4.5 apg
• As a senior, he was first team all-state, first team all-region, and the Premier Region Offensive Player of the Year
• Team captain as a senior who led the Broncos to a 25-3 overall record in Arizona's top 6A Division
• As a junior, after averaging 16.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 5.2 apg, he was named the Premier Region Player of the Year
• Four-time academic all-conference selection in high school, and Big Sky all-academic at NAU
