GREEN BAY, Wisc. — Sacramento State offensive lineman Jackson Slater was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round (167th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Slater, who can play all five offensive line positions, was drafted as a guard by the Titans.
 
The Bellevue, Wash., native became the 13^th Hornet selected in the NFL Draft dating back to 1959 and the second in the last three years. Slater was also the first Big Sky Conference selection in this year's draft and the third FCS player taken.
 
Slater was a consensus FCS All-American following the 2024 season after being recognized by the AP, Stats Perform and the AFCA. He started 44 games during his career and helped the Hornets to a pair of Big Sky titles and three NCAA FCS Playoff appearances. Following the year, he competed at the Senior Bowl where he garnered national attention for his play against the nation's top players. He later attended the NFL Combine and produced some of the top athletic rankings among offensive linemen.
