BROWN PROMOTED TO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH

SACRAMENTO — Sacramento State head women's basketball coach Aaron Kallhoff announced Tuesday that De'Audra Brown has been elevated to the position of Associate Head Coach with the Hornets' program. Brown, who will be in her second season with Sacramento State in 2024-25, was an assistant coach in her first year with the Hornets last season.

"De'Audra is a relentless worker and a huge asset to our program," Kallhoff remarked. "She's very loyal and does a great job connecting with those around her."

A sideline veteran at both the junior college and Division I levels, Brown plays a key role in helping develop the culture and establishing a foundation of success for the Hornets' program, while working with Sacramento State's backcourt.

Under her tutelage, sophomore guard Benthe Versteeg was named to the All-Big Sky Conference second team following a record-setting campaign when she averaged 11.6 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, and 6.71 assists per game, while pacing the team with 58 steals. Her assists per game average is the best in school history as is her 208 total assists — which broke the school's single-season record previously held by Fantasia Hilliard (197) since 2015.

Versteeg was also named to the Big Sky All-Tournament Team — the only player on the six-woman team who was not a member of one of the four semifinal qualifiers — after averaging 16.0 ppg and 9.5 apg during the Hornets' run to the quarterfinals.

Named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "30-under-30" coaches list in 2017, Brown joined Kallhoff's inaugural staff after spending the 2022-23 season at Hawai'i, where she helped the Rainbow Wahine to 18 wins, a Big West Conference Tournament title, and an NCAA Tournament berth.

Prior to that, she helped New Mexico State to a pair of Western Athletic Conference regular season titles as well as a conference tournament crown in her five seasons as an assistant coach with the Aggies.

Brown cut her teeth in coaching at the junior college level, beginning with two seasons at Eastern Arizona College and two more at Seward County Community College. In those four years, she helped her teams qualify for three NJCAA National Championship Tournament berths and coaches four NJCAA All-Americans.
