SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the 2025 Big Sky Cross Country Championships on Friday at Riverside Golf Course in Pocatello, Idaho. The men's 8K will be the first race of the day beginning at 10 a.m. PT. The women's 5K race will start an hour later and both races can be viewed on ESPN+.
Â
The Hornets last competed on Oct. 19 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. The men's team was led by
Ryan Martin who finished in 20
th place. Martin has had the fastest time on the team in the three most recent meets and finished in second place among Sacramento State runners in the season opener. Fellow sophomore
Brandon Moreno owned the fastest time for the Hornets in that meet and has placed second behind Martin in the other three meets.
Â
Six of the seven Sacramento State runners who are entered in this week's Big Sky Championship competed last season at the snow-filled 2024 conference meet in Missoula, Mont.
Aiden Maddison finished that race with the best time on the team, and was 44

She has placed among the top 20 runners overall in all four meets and has a 6K best of 20:27.8 at the UCR Invitational. The Big Sky Championship is the only 5K race for the team during the year.
Â
Along with Oliver, the team returns four others who competed at last season's conference meet.
Dani Gee had the best time among the returners, running 18:24.7 to place 27
