FOOTBALL TO HOST RISING STARS MEGA CAMP NEXT WEEK

Registration extended until Sunday

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — One of the largest football camps in the country will return to campus next week for the Sacramento State's football Rising Stars Mega Camp. The camp will feature nearly 2,000 junior college and high school football players who will be showing their skills in front of coaches from some of the top programs in the west.

Registration for the camp has been extended to end of the day on Sunday, July 11. The camp will be held July 14-15 on fields throughout the Sacramento State campus. Attendees will be divided by position group and class.

"This camp is a huge asset for our program in that we get to have close to 2,000 kids on our campus who are being coached by our coaches," Sacramento State head coach Andy Thompson said. "Overall, it brings close to 5,000 people to our campus to see what Sacramento State has to offer. The camp also provides valuable work and coaching experience for our players."

Along with the Sacramento State coaching staff, coaches from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington and Washington State of the Pac-12, Air Force, Colorado State Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, San Diego State State, San Jose State, UNLV, and Utah State of the Mountain West and Army, BYU and UTEP are also scheduled to appear.
