SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State second-year head coach
David Patrick announced the program's fourth signee of the 2023-24 recruiting class, as Santa Clara forward Jacob Holt will transfer to play for the Hornets.
Holt will enroll as a junior at Sacramento State in the summer, and will have two years of remaining eligibility.
The recruiting class now features Holt and three freshmen that signed during the early period - Mater Dei Catholic High School combo guard
Kris Gonzalez, and a pair of Australians in center
Bowyn Beatty and point guard
Bailey Nunn.
The Holt File
• A 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward from Delta, British Columbia.
• Played each of the last two seasons (2021-23) at Santa Clara of the West Coast Conference.
• Played 50 games for a Broncos team that combined to go 44-22 overall, and 21-10 in the WCC during his two seasons.
• Appeared in 29 games as a sophomore, averaging 9.4 minutes, 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest.
• Scored a career-high 12 points (4-4 FG, 4-4 FT) vs. Iona.
• Played 16 minutes in Santa Clara's 72-65 win over Sacramento State on Dec. 3.
• Had eight points (4-4 FG) vs. Gonzaga, and seven points at Utah State.
• Of his 100 career rebounds, 33 have come on the offensive glass.
• Played in 21 games as a freshman after missing the first nine with injury.
• Attended Vancouver College (high school) in British Columbia.
• Ranked the 21st best player in Canada, according to North Pole Hoops.
• During the 2020 4A Provincial Tournament, he earned first team all-star accolades after averaging 27.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.8 blocks per game in the event.
• Member of the AAU program Drive which is based in Vancouver.
• Selected to the 2019 U-17 Basketball BC Provincial Team.
